Instructions & Words On the left we were given instructions on when to use what type of media. First we used the charcoal and drew with a free hand, after drew with the ink doing the same thing. Then we were told to erase parts with the white acrylic paint. We repeated this three times. I like how the paint sits on top of the ink and chalk, and how it made a texture as the chalk bits were mixed with the paint.

The right hand side we were instructed to write a word or a number repeatedly on the page using charcoal, ink and white paint.

Expression

We were instructed just to free draw anything, so what I thought is I played with the strength of the ink applied to the brush and what marks it left when less ink was on the brush. I then splattered the ink of the sheet of paper, to also see what the outcome of that would look like. It wasn't what I pictured in my head as these splatters are more thick rather than sparse and spread out.

On this I liked scraping the charcoal across the page, I really liked the clean edge it left even though the scrapes gave a rough texture.
